Nicolas Longuet, nicknamed ‘Chro’, joins Frederik Rasmussen and Joni Törmälä in representing Red Bull Racing Esports in the 2019 Formula 1 Series
The 17-year-old was selected by the Team at Wednesday eveningʼs 2019 F1 Esports Pro Draft at Gfinity Arena in London. After waiting patiently through four draft picks, the Bulls got their man.
Nicolas won the first race at the Pro Draft eliminators, securing his spot amongst the final 24 qualifying drivers. After a day of discussion and interviews with a number of hopefuls, Chro’s impressive display was enough for the Team to make its decision and introduce him as the latest member of the Red Bull Racing Esports family.
Nicolas commented, “I only started simulator racing a year ago, so achieving this already means so much to me, itʼs all Iʼve ever wanted.“
Red Bull Racing Esports Team Manager, Danny Engels, added, “With us being fifth pick overall, we didn’t expect such a talented driver to be available. Nicolas is a guy that started sim racing pretty much a year ago and he really impressed in our one-on-one interviews.”
The addition of Nicolas completes the Team’s driver line-up for the 2019 F1 Esports Series, which begins on 11 September and covers a total of 12 races across four live events.
